I could be the last one to know this, but just in case I'm not, thought I'd pass this along...

The "old" Garner movie theater over on Timber Drive is now charging $2 for all movies! :hurray: They are second-run, meaning right after they leave the regular theaters they come over there. But they've got a lot of great ones playing right now, my friend and I are going tomorrow night. And I was trying to figure out what to do with my kids Saturday, now I think we'll go see Up since we hadn't seen it yet.

Thanks so much!! Dh and I are going to drop the kids at Screamin Mimi's and see Transformers Friday night, and I think we'll take the kids to a matinee on Sunday afternoon, if they're open. We never get to the movies, so this rocks!

Exactly!! I was trying to figure out what to do with the kids Saturday, so this is a great option to have! And I don't get to the movies much either (although lately girl's night out has been a great way to catch up) so sometimes the movies are done playing by the time I get a chance to go see them. $2 is a great way to spend a little less money going out! And...it's very expensive to take 3 kids to see a movie, so this will make it much easier!

Thanks for the information. OMG the teens are going to freak out because the parents are going to be going to the cheaper movies and infringing upon their right to not be seen by the parents.................cannot wait to tell mine. Life is just getting better and better.:lol::lol:

this has REALLY been awesome cause i still have my supresized plastic soda mug i bought there in 2001, which gets me $1 refills every time i take it in. For those that are interested the triangle area cinema club meets there every 2nd Wednesday for the first showing of whatever film is being offered in the theater 2. It is a crap shoot, i've suffered thru some VERY bad film stock, including Battlefield Earth but also some heart wrenching art - like Saving Private Ryan. The ending always brings a tear.

I've been there one time several years ago. My wife and I went to see Jim Carrey as the Grinch and that was the last time. I guess we're like most everyone else...I just don't care for the old style theater as opposed to stadium-style seating. It's okay if there's not a lot of people.

We went this afternoon to see "Night at the Museum" and enjoyed it from start to finish. The employees were super friendly, popcorn was delish (word to the wise, the concessions are not discounted like the tickets!), very clean. No, no stadium seats, but for $2, I'll suffer. Oh, and the movie was very cute too. We will definitley be going back.

I want to see "My Sister's Keeper" if I can find someone besides DH to go with me.
