I have a gas trimmer that uses a gas/oil combo. I have no idea how to do that. I have this little bottle of oil that you mix with 2.5 gallons of gasoline - but that trimmer does not hold 2.5 gallons of liquid. I have a gas can that holds 2.5 gallons of gas - but would not hold anymore - and besides I would not be able to use it just for gas after that - right? How the heck do I do this/store the extra or just make "enough"?
Do you have a separate gas container for your weed eater? If not simply purchase one with the levels posted on the side up to 2.5 gallons. Empty your oil into that container and there you go. Anyways, that's how I do it. If I understood you correctly that is. Hope I helped but probably not.
No, I'll have to go buy one. So maybe a 3 gallon, fill the 2.5 gallon and dump together in the 3 gallon. Where do I buy gas containers anyways, Lowes?
Yes, Lowes, Wally World etc. And yes pour your oil in and shake it up. The tank if it's one of those little plastic ones should have the notches on the side for measurements.
Or you could buy a smaller container of oil mix. I know Lowe's sells them for like 2 bucks. You mix it with 1 gallon of gas. They also sell the larger container to mix with 2 gallons and then 5 gallons. They sell the gas container size of 2 gallons 8oz so that when you put 2 gallons of gas in it, you have enough room to pour in the 2 gallon mix oil and shake it around.
And, With a Permanent Majic Marker, write in big letters on the side of gas/mix container, GAS/OIL MIX. I know if it wasn't written on there I would mistake it for plain gas and pour it in my lawnmower., and that would not be a good thing. That same gas mix is good for just about anything, Your leaf blower, week wacker, rotiller, power washer,,, just make sure they all use the same thing and you don't have to be making seperate container for each individual one.
Probably is the same but just check and make sure the weed wacker is 50:1 also and you will be in good shape.
