My son Chris has the county wide spelling bee on this Thursday at Selma Elementary. He has worked very hard to prepare for this and we are so proud of him for all that he has accomplished. If you would please, get out the old rabbits foot, lucky 8 ball, or say a little prayer for my boy for Thursday. I am proud of him no matter what, but a few good luck wishes never hurt anybody. I will keep you abreast on what happens! Thanks to all my 4042 family.:grouphug:
Awesome! I just love Spelling Bees. Saw in the paper an article about middle school child doing this locally. Has he seen that movie about the girl in the spelling bee? It is really good and uplifting. Will keep him in my thoughts and please update us. Sherry
Great job!!! No rabbits feet needed ... just brain power and it seems he already has that!!! :hurray::hurray::hurray: Please tell him Good luck from me!
That is awesome! Good luck to him! I tried that once in middle school, but didn't get very far. But I was always good in spelling, just not good enough I guess. The i's and e's always mess me up! My son is good though, he's got a 99 in spelling right now, maybe he'll do a spelling bee one day! Yes, I live my dreams through my children! Is this something he'll do in school, or after school, or does he go someplace to do it?
Thank you so much for all your kind words and wishes. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. It is being held at Selma Elementary at 3:30. Of course today my poor baby woke up with a really high fever. Getting better now, but he looked so pitiful this morning!
Aw, poop. As his mother "you" must get him well for tomorrow. Everything now falls on "your" shoulders. Don't let him or us down...............:lol: I'll bet he does a great job tomorrow! Sherry
UPDATE! Well, he woke up singing this morning, and his temp is at a perfect 98.4 degrees.:hurray: The cute part was he was singing one of his favorite songs, but instead of the lyrics he was spelling the challenge words I gave him. Had to be there but it was really cute. I will let ya'll know how he does this afternoon! Thank you for your support:grouphug:
Now, that's great news! Yes, please let us know how it goes. Received my National Geographic Magazine yesterday and they were talking about the upcoming Geography Bee. Sherry :hurray:
RESULTS!! Well, the results are in and Chris did a wonderful job. By my guess there were about 25ish kids there. Chris left with about 7 or 8 other kids in front of him. I am so proud of him! He was heartbroken of course, he thinks he let his whole school down. Bless his heart he does not even want to go to school today. He missed the word Falsetto by one stinking T. Oh well, such is life, but he was so cute up on stage! If anyone teaches or sees him at Dixon Rd. Elementary, please give him a little pat on the back. It would mean the world to him I am sure. Thank you my 4042 family!:grouphug:
