Giving hope

  1. I've had something on my heart for a while. At the church that my girls went to for Vacation Bible School over the summer, the kids were asked to bring in coins everday to put together to make a donation to Zoe Ministry. www.zoeministry.org. I had no idea what that was until we watched a video showing the lives of kids who take care of their families because their parents are not there. Most of the parents have died of AIDS. This is specifically the Giving Hope Empowerment Project. I looked up the website for to learn more. Donations help train the kids in farming, animal husbandry, vocational skills, etc. The goal is to make these kids self-sufficient within 2 - 3 years. My girls have been saving coins for a couple of months now. I wanted to wait until right after Thanksgiving and make one big donation. Anyway, I thought about asking if anyone else would like to help save coins for this ministry. I'd like to cash in the coins and make one big donation to Zoe Ministry specifically for the Giving Hope Empowerment Project. You don't have to respond publically here. If you want to send me a PM sometime closer to November, that's fine. If you would rather not do it that way, please consider saving coins and making a donation on your own. What I like about this cause is we are not just giving money or food, we are actually helping to empower these orphans, something that is priceless.

I'm not really sure how to organize this if anyone is interested. I am all ears with ideas. :allears:

    God bless these kids.
