Well today is the day that Peppercorns - the four legged version- goes to the Vets. She has something going on with her eye. It hurts her very bad when she rubs it. she cries and yelps. THen in a minute she stops and is fine, running and playing. i have no idea what has happened. I thought maybe one of the other dogs put a tooth in her eye or maybe she has a splinter from something. i just am hoping that it is not anything too bad.

Muffin is going to the Vet today too. She is getting old and "lumpy". I know that sounds weird but i think she is getting more and more of those fatty tumors. - at least that is what I hope they are and nothing else. Muffin is over 13 . She sleeps and eats alot but seems fine.

I just needed to vent and tell folks to cross their fingers for my girls. I really hope Peppercorns doesn't loose her eye. Maybe it is like pink eye? But she yelps too much if it were to be just that. I so wish they could talk and tell me what is hurting.

Should be ok the eyes are pretty sensitive to even minor things, may need a lamp shade though.

Well after much yipping and yapping about getting a harness put on I got them in the car and there on time.....
Peppercorns must have gotten some type of eye injury, like a stick or a tooth from ramming around with Bogie - BF's dog. She has a bad ulcer/sore thing in her eye that is infected. I was relieved to know that there was still nothing stuck in her eye. She is on pain killers and antibiotic eye drops. Same crap I used! Would have been cheaper to write me a prescription. We go back on Saturday Morning.
She is wearing the space collar..lol she looks so funny and is constantly bumping into stuff. I tried really hard not to laugh but to watch her try to get it off with both paws in the air was funny...

Muffin has a bunch of fatty tumors that are all soft and pliable. Vet said if they start to turn hard - then she could have a problem, but at her age - we determined she is over 13 - there isn't a whole lot to do about it other then aspirate the things. I will have that done in a few weeks. She is still pretty playful and Vet said she was doin really well for an old girl. I forgot that was old for a dog...After my Rosiebud lived to be eighteen and she was a big dog Muffin is, i think , seventeen pounds..peppercorns is fourteen pounds and only about 8-9 years old.

I had one beautiful girl named Shannon, that had her Fatty lump turn bad. She was 12 and a bigger dog, but once it became a mast cell tumor and began to grow - she was gone in a week it grew so fast. I never saw anything like it and I hope to heck I don't again.

Pep, stop by Basic Needs and get a free prescription card for discounts on meds - and they are good for pet meds too! Good at *most* pharmacies in the area that I know of (with the exception of Carrol's in Smithfield).

Happy to hear the pups are going to be okay - sorry about the cost though.

BTW fatty tumors are pretty common in older dogs, while some can turn bad, for the most part they don't. Will keep fingers crossed Muffins are the latter type.

Pepper, I'm going to hijack your thread for a moment, since it's vet related.

Anybody got any experience with "Schnauzer Skin"? Basically doggy acne on the back. Molly may have it, as it is apparently NOT a flea allergy as the vet first thought a couple weeks ago. ( I TRIED to tell the man we don't have fleas, LOL, I don't think he believed me til we went back yesterday) Got a new medicated shampoo, hoping that helps. What a PITA!
