Hubby's out of town, and I always rent a good chick flick while he's gone. Anyone have any good ones to suggest? I saw He's Just Not That Into You in the theaters, so that's out, and just rented Nights in Rodanthe a couple weeks ago. Anything else new or fairly new? I have not seen Baby Mama yet, kept wanting to see it and Redbox never had it. Is that good? I like romance and funny, how is that? Anything else you ladies out there can recommend? I'll be waiting...

How about Bride Wars, how was that? I've heard mixed things, is it funny or just dumb? Someone told me they just fought through the whole thing, which was why I didn't like The Break Up...Again, looking for something I can't watch with hubby, I know there are other good movies out there, but saving those for when he is in town. (I can't wait to see Taken and 7 pounds)

Saw Bride Wars this past week. It took awhile for it to get moving, and was only okay. A few funny parts, but not as good as I thought it would be.

Bride Wars was cute. The Women was also cute.

Did you see Finding Sarah Marshall? I LMAO at that one....

I did not see Finding Sarah Marshall, will check out that trailer as well. I like movies that will either make me cry cause they're so sappy (like the Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe) or laugh cause they're so funny (like Mad Money). I also have not seen PS I love you, and a lot of people on here have said that's a good one, so I might get that if the box has it. I know it's older, so not sure if it's available.

  8. I second Finding Sarah Marshall... my husband and I laughed so hard when we watched that one

OK...so The Women OR Finding Sarah Marshall it is. We'll see what they have available at the box! Will report back later tomorrow. Having my first ever yard sale tomorrow, praying for NO RAIN tomorrow morning!!! Also praying that everything goes, since I really don't feel like loading my crap back into my car, especially with hubby and older son gone this weekend, I got no helpers!

(just realized that probably made no sense...it's a community yard sale, so it's not in front of my house, I've gotta load it all up and take it to the front of my neighborhood)

Bummer! They didn't have either one, or Baby Mama or PS I love you or anything else that looked like what I wanted. I hate it when that happens. Didn't have what little man wanted either. So I settled for Yes Man, hoping it at least makes me laugh...and little man settled for Spongebob and the Big One (or whatever it's called). At least I've got goobers to eat with it tonight!

No, never done it. Not even sure it's hooked up, don't you do it through phone lines or something? Either way, already got the movie, I'm about 1/2 hour into it and not thrilled so far. But my son was talking so couldn't concentrate, then the phone rang and now I have phone call to make, so it's not going well tonight...

Here's my review for Yes Man: I give it a B. It was ok, would not rent it again, would not buy it, glad I didn't pay to go see it. The best part of it was the last 30 seconds, that was funny! But it was ok.

Tonight I rented Seven Pounds, redbox still didn't have any chick flicks I wanted, all they have are gory movies or thrillers, and I can't watch them when I'm home alone, unless I want to be awakened all night by any tiny noise I hear! :allears: I really want to see Taken, but am determined to wait for hubby.

Wanted to go see Up in the theaters, but kids wanted to do putt-putt instead.

  16. We watched Taken last night. Very good! Since I have daughters, it makes me want to keep them in the house until they're 30 though!!!!

We just came back from seeing Up!! It was soooo good! Even the little Pixar short film at the beginning was really great. I was very impressed and it's the best cartoon I have seen in a long time!! (Made me tear up a few times too but I am sensitive!)
