Anyone know of a reliable person in the area, around downtown Clayton towards 40/42?? I have a belt making a racket and we have not found a decent mechanic that does not want you pay for a new car just to get the old one repaired. Of course, it's almost paid off so it's time for it to fall apart so I need help soon!!
I've had good luck with Cleveland Auto Repair 779-7090 Getting an oil change tomorrow Btw, not sure if you got my PM or not, the CD is AWESOME!! Thank you!!!
Ditto on Cleveland Auto Repair. I took a vehicle to them and said I was 99% sure the alternator needed to be replaced. Turned out to be a short in the battery and a potential $400.00 repair was only $40.00. They could easily have ripped me off and didn't. Now they get all my buisness.
It's a 2003 Toyota Camry. I have heard quite a few people complain about how hard it is to get to things in a Camry engine but since I know less than nothing about cars, I have no idea! I know you have to have a wrench to get to the air filter though. I will try Cleveland though. Thanks! HG, you are welcome for the CD, glad you are enjoying!!
Simon's Auto on Hwy 70 in Clayton. I have everything done there and would not go anywhere else. Simon is a top notch guy. It's across from the semi truck sales place on Hwy 70 just up from LKQ. Tell him Dan the old SunCom guy sent you if you go.
Jeff Carwell (honest, that's his last name) of Carwell Automotive. 553-7612. He's wonderful, and very, very thorough. He came recommended to us when we moved here, and I would not take my car anyplace else, honest!
I am not quite sure who the two are you are referring to. I don't really know of any mechanics on this site. As for the "Back Yard Mechanic", I was not referring to you so try not to take the usual offence.
We use Jeff Carwell too, and I can't complain, he's always been fairly priced and great to deal with. He's located up behind the Food Lion/Wendys shopping center on Hwy 70. If you follow Little Creek Church Rd, stay to the right at the fork, he is the next road down on the left, small one lane road, his shop is down about an eighth of a mile on the right.
You missed my point. You seem to relate things to people being mechanics. I was just stating that being a mechanic has nothing to do with anything. Boy do I get tired of spelling everything out.
