If they wanted to cause a further decline in CD sales, they couldn't be trying any harder.

If thats the way they want it, then thats what they are going to get. When someone buys a CD, the music on that CD is theirs to use for their personal use. This is taking it way too far.

Why would folks buy CDs if they know they are no longer free to move the music they bought to their MP3 player or computer? They'll just continue moving towards downloading all their music legally from places like itunes.

Talk about biting off your nose to spite your face.

That's the craziest thing I ever heard! (OK, I confess, that might be a bit of hyperbole, there are lots crazier things going on in the world.) When you buy a CD, you can't copy it into another format for your own use? Were we breaking the law all those years ago when we copied our records onto tape so we could listen to them in the car? Are we breaking the law when we record our favorite TV shows so we can watch them later? How is that different from copying your own CD onto your own computer?

I have always thought that something 'wasn't right' with this whole thing....we buy the CD's and then I have to pay a buck to download it off the itunes site for my ipods, seems they are getting paid twice. And yet they are still complaining. Go figure.

you haven't been doing that have you? Itunes will rip a CD for you to put it anywhere you want. =(

Yes, 98% of my music is from my CDs.

On my computer you insert the CD, it ask what you want to do, there is usually a list, and you choose the import with itunes option.
