GIRL! I know what you mean, I have natural shirley temple curly hair but choose to wear it straight! Humidity is NOT my friend either, I like Furouk Silk Therapy Biosilk. Its a clear serum, all you have to do is put a dab of it in your hands, rub, and then run thru your hair. I also like Big Sexy Smooth and Seal. Its an actual humidity blocker and works great!!:)

I too, fight naturally curly hair this time of year. I choose to dry it straight. I have tried everything out there. My favorites are the Redken line of Smothing Shampoos and Conditioners, the conditioner is called 'Butter' and its wonderful. It's my current favorite.

Also a great smoothing serum is made by Artec and its a product that you put on before styling. http://www.stuff4beauty.com/page/artec_texture_smoothing_serum.html

The Matrix Line of Smooth and Sleek is outstanding, especially if you use the entire line (shampoo, conditioner and smoother). Bright orange packaging.

the good thing about all of these products you can get them at ULTA or one of the hair places at the mall.

    Happy Smoothing! :-D

I second the Biosilk. I love that stuff!!

And in the summer I do nothing more than embrace my head of frizz. Go curly... save yourself a headache.

Yea I try and do more curls during the summer bc of the humidity, its nice to have the option sometimes! Have you ever tried the "Fruit Cocktail" by Biosilk???? Thats a great product too but its hard to find sometimes, and its good for your skin too!

You can buy the ION line of products at Sally's Beauty Supply. It is anti-frizz and it works well with humidity. I started using it a few years ago and haven't had major problems since.

Rusk anti curl. You can make up cocktails of your own also. Try it. Biolage bio silk and a little gel mixed in. There is always hairspray and heat to straighten.

Good luck, humidity and curl dont mix.

Oh, try curls rock and catwalk by TiGi. Love their product!! Even though it says curls, you can straighten also.

During the last few years, i have just let mine go during the summer - trying to keep it straight and fight the humidity is just too time consuming.

Alberto V05. Yep, the goop in a tube that your mother and grandmother used to use to roll up their hair. It's fantastic stuff. It not only helps fight frizzies, it keeps your hair conditioned.

Just rub a small dot of it (about the size of your pinky nail), between your hands until the heat of your hands liquifies it. Then spread through your wet hair after you get out of the shower. Then blow dry or air dry as normal.

Either a tiny bit of Static Guard - sprayed on a brush OR go to beauty supply store and get some spray oil sheen made for African American hair - and spray a tiny bit on your brush - the latter contains silicone/dimethicone derivatives and help calm static.. .just be sparing when using it - a can should last years.
