My kids have a long history with hamsters (Teddy Bears) but since our last old man passed on, we have been hamster free for over a year. Now, my 17yo daughter wants a Teddy Bear hamster for Christmas. She is very responsible so I have no worries about her caring for her pet.

I am wondering if anyone either has or knows someone who has a teddy bear they want to rehome. I don't really like buying them from a pet store because they are not well socialized and the 2 that we did buy from pet stores ended up trying to eat my hand resulting in nasty wounds and a tetanus shot for me.

I once found the best teddy on this site and he was such a sweetheart. I also am looking for a cage. Just thought I'd post here and see if anyone can help out.

    Thanks :)

Sometimes they have small animals at the Wake shelter and the Wake SPCA. I know at the SPCA they have info on the animal's temperament. You can also try Petfinder.com.

  4. I have a dwarf hamster with cage wheel ball and all accessories. $25 takes the complete setup with food and bedding. My son has no interest in her anymore and responsibility has fallen on me.
