Just heard that Harris Teeter is negotiating for property across from Smithfield Hams Distribution Center (old Winn-Dixie Distribution Center) in Clayton. I was informed that Harris Teeter will be a major player in the Clayton market within the next 2 years. Here hoping the deal is finalized.
I hope that it is true. Harris Teeter is not that expensive when you stick to their sales and they have some very good sales. I am a little surprised at the location. It is not a major road yet. maybe it will be by then. Jen
I would not hold my breath on this one. I talked to someone who usually knows of these things. They looked at me like I had an extra head then started talking about rumors starting again.
I actually inquired about a month ago.this is the reply i recieved: 12/11/2006 1:01 PM Thank you for your email. We appreciate your interest in having our stores in your area. At this time, we do not have plans for a store in Clayton; however, we will forward your request to our Real Estate department. Thanks for shopping with us when you are in the area. Sincerely, Harris Teeter Customer Relations
Don't shoot the messenger! My source is normally very accurate. May not happen, but if this comes to pass just remember you heard it on 4042 Discussion Board. I personally hope it is true.
About a month ago, all of us living at Flowers Plantation area recieved a flyer note from HOA about a future possibility of another grocery store nearby. They also stated to be sure that we register to vote and vote 'yes' for additional grocery store. I'm not sure if Harris Teeter is the one, but that's pretty far from our area. We don't know for sure yet. Anybody?
Actually, CakePrincess, it wouldn't be far from you at all at Flowers, you would take Castleberry Rd over to Archers Lodge, then come down Covered Bridge. Or you could also take the road that runs by the Food Lion too, might even be closer, I just can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. I live near Riverwood and if I happen to decide to go to Food Lion, that's the way I go.
