Ok heres the thing I can not sleep .I Have a hard time falling a sleep and then wake up all night.I have been to the dr. because I am tired and zombie feeling all day I have lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks and I think its related to the not sleeping because I also can not eat much.Anyways I can not take any sleeping aids either for other reasons. This has been going on about 3 weeks any suggestions? My dr. says this will pass and theres nothing wrong with me and not to worry but I am sooo tired all day long.

Have you tried chamomile tea and soft music? I know it makes you feel bad all day when you can't sleep at night, hope you find a solution to the problem.

How old are ya? Possibly peri-menopause?

If it's fairly recent, I'd look for things that are bugging you and deal with them. (I am not a doctor, so my advice should not be taken.)

Personally I would suggest that you listen to your doctor's advice, and not worry. Everyone goes through bouts of insomnia.

Maybe a little off, but have you had your thyroid checked? Weight loss and sleeplessness are a small part of the symptoms. Hope all goes well!

This may sound old fashioned but have you tried a warm glass of milk? Do you have any kids, God knows that is why I don't sleep lol. If you are very tired throughout the day, take a nap. Take a day or two off of work and hopefully that will help. Good luck :)

I feel your pain, have been aggravated with it for months!! So I recently have decided to reduce my stress level by changing jobs :-D and if I can't go to sleep, I get up and go to couch, turn on the History channel, and I'm out like a light!! The more I lay there and worry about not going to sleep, the worse it gets, so I just get up!

Even though you wanted him gone, it's still a huge transition in your life. Enough, maybe, to lose sleep over (I won't go into specifics for fear of adding to your lost sleep)

I have a hard time staying asleep, once I am woken up I am up for hours. I got a white noise machine and turn it on at night, not 'run way' loud because I still have little ones to listen for, but it is soothing. It blocks out some of the little noise, like the dog repositioning, or hubby snoring that used to bug me.

I know how frustrating lack of sleep is, it effects everything you do. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon!!

Start going to a gym if you dont. Take a stacker 3 before you go. Work out really hard. When you get home!!! SLAM right on the bed. Stacker 3's are a natural energy enhancement. I take one everyday before I work out.

Thanks Grace, i was going to say she seems too young for the peri-menopause too. TV does work wonders though and if you have a timer on it even better. Those sound machines mentioned earlier are nice too to help you relax to get to sleep.

I used to take valerian root. They sell it at GNC but it stinks pretty bad.

Hope you get things worked out, but just in case you don't, I am glad my wife bought that "Zombie Survival Guide" Sunday night. Just remember to tell your loved ones to climb to a high place or run like there is no tomorrow, because we all know Zombies can not climb or run.

I had the same problem...it is very frustrating. I started to walk every morning and work out 3-4 evenings a week...it didn't take long for me to crash and burn. Give exercise a try.
