Okay, I've tried everything else so I'm going to give you 40/42'ers a try. I am in desperate need of a lion costume for my grown son. Yes, I said grown. He's teaching Vacation Bible School and their theme is the Wizard of Oz. He is going to be the Cowardly Lion...if we can find him a costume that is! Does anyone have one they would loan or want to sell or know of anywhere we might find one? And, of course it would have to fit a grown man. He's 6'2' about 180 lbs. (I'm guessing on his weight) He's tall and relatively thin.

The only costume place I can think of is the one on Hillsborough St, but sadly it is closing soon. Might be a good thing for your son though, because they are liquidating their inventory. http://www.raleighcreativecostumes.com/

Thanks Ready! I'll call them tomorrow morning! I also have a lady off of Craig's list who sells costumes looking through her inventory for me. She has one in toddler and children's sizes but hasn't been through all the adult ones yet. So there's still hope!

There is a costume place off of Capital called Huey and Luey's....

Bump! Thanks for the lead Jen. Hughie and Louie has one they rent so it should work out for him. They even let churches keep it longer than the standard 3 day rental!
Thanks anyway, Ready. I called them and they can "piece" one together for him, but because they're going out of buiness, he has to buy it to the tune of $200. Needless to say he won't be buying it since he only needs it for VBS.
I appreciate everyone's help and so does my son! I knew you folks could help me out! Thanks again! :)

I'm not if this would help; try looking for a Lion King costume with Walt Disney or Time Warner stores under Lion King. I beleive they have a store at Crabtree or the Streets at Southpoint mall.

FWIW- I was at Party City at White Oak on Monday and they have a TON of Halloween stuff on clearance. I did see some Wizard of Oz stuff, like the Lion's heart, and the Tin Man's diploma.

Glad he was able to find one!! And  at the price the costume place quoted, but then again, those are professional costumes, so...

Yeah, I was shocked when they quoted that price for a "pieced together" costume. I know they're professional costumes, but I thought it would be cheaper (on sale or something) since they're going out of business. I wonder what a complete (not pieced together) one would have sold for!
Needless to say the $55 rental fee from Hughie and Louie's started sounding better and better and I thought it was really nice that they let a church have it at that price for a week (to kick-off VBS and ending night festivities) for the same price as a 3 day rental! Thumbs up to Hughie & Louie!!
