Okay my peeps, I know some of my good 4042 buddies can help me out. I have looked high and low for a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. My DD wants to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween. We have the entire costume, except for the ears. I've already checked with Party City, Walmart, Target, etc. and no one has them. Does anyone have any we can borrow? They would need to fit a 13yr. old's head. She's going to a party that requires a costume. They're going on a scavenger hunt to all the stores/businesses at 4042 so if you see an earless Minnie it will be my DD unless someone can help. Please let me know if you can help...I'll meet you anywhere locally to pick them up and will return them promptly if we can borrow them just for this one night! THANKS!

Have you tried the Disney Store at Crabtree Valley Mall? I'm about 99.9% sure they would have some. :)

    Good luck!

If you can't buy some, you should be able to make some out of a black headband, some wire, black material..............etc.

    ...back in the day ....

I used to dress up as a black kitty. For ears I used fake fur fabric folded to make pointy triangles and hot glued them to hair barrettes. I would imagine a shape of a half circle or a little more would work as well. Using barrettes you're able to place them where you want and they stay in place rather well. You could use a felt 8x10? sheet purchased in the craft section at walmart.

No, I was hoping to find them locally. I hate going to the mall. You're probably right tho, and unless I find them elsewhere before Wednesday, I guess I'll be forced to go. The strange thing is, I was just there last Wednesday, and never thought to look! Of course, my DD hadn't decided on what she was going to do at that point!

In looking at pictures of the mouse ears I believe you are already getting the right advise. Thick, black headband, connect (push each end of the coat hanger through the headband after cutting it the length you need) and then black felt (it holds up the best and can probably be found at the Dollar General Store, a drug store or now that I am thinking this through, at Michael's in White Oaks). I think you can make it easily in about thirty minutes after having all the items. Would like to see a picture of the ears when done, if you can.

    Gosh, I miss those days...Not!

Still getting can labels for you and will mail this week.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I broke down and went to Crabtree (Disney Store) and of course they had exactly what I was looking for...Black headband with ears and the red polka-dotted bow! They are just too cute! The price tag said $8.50 and I figured it would cost me that much to make them just in the materials needed to say nothing of the time involved since I'm not real crafty! However, when they rang up they were only $5.00 so I was more than pleased and glad I made the trip. Did a little Christmas shopping while I was there (Hey I had to justify the gas to go that far LOL)
    Thanks again everybody! :)

I wish I would have known you were going to the mall.

The department stores give out "samples" of perfume, good little stocking stuffers

    Love FREE ****!

I'm really going to be late for work!

    BYE!

Wow! It never occured to me to use those "samples" for stocking stuffers....and to think I have a 13 yr. old daughter and granddaughter, 3 more grown daughters, and 3 daughter-in-laws that would love a little sample like that to toss in their purses! Shoot, am I dumb or what! Thanks for that tip HG!

That is the only reason I go into a Neman Marcus. Free samples and bags. It is soooo funny in the stocking.

Taking that one step farther. When my daughter was younger and I had to travel around the country a lot I found that if I brought her the shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion (provided by the hotel) as opposed to a tee shirt that I had to buy she was happy. As a matter of fact, she tells me know that she actually liked the lotion and stuff better than the tee shirt because she would share with friends. What a hoot! I'm all for FREE!
