Help me - I hate my dishwasher

Over the last week, all the glasses/cups on the top rack get dirtier than they were to begin with after I wash them. What's going on? It's really getting on my nerves. Mostly the glasses have a bunch of grit on them. I've had this dishwasher since we moved here two years ago. It's never caused me any trouble until last week.

Check if something's caught in the drain.

 

It probably needs a thorough cleaning. Everyone thinks they are self cleaning.
