OK, my dryer is not working (*&$#%$#%^(*^&$ :x It's only a little over a year old and it won't start at all. I've reset the breaker, checked all the cords and cannot find anything. It's a GE Upright DBVH series Anyone? Someone? HELP!
Track down Monaco... you may look inside the control panel where the cord goes into dryer and see if there may be a reset switch there. Do you guys have a volt meter??? Beware of Power jolts...
Chuck's Refrigeration Heating & Air Conditioning Smithfield, NC 27577-9133 (919) 989-6865 Chuck is awesome and will make a special run if one is in need. I don't know anything of use to help with your other questions. He works on our dryer and washing machine. He will walk you through different items over the telephone to see if it can be fixed without a charge....honest guy. Call him now and leave a message if he does not answer. He will call you back as soon as possible. Good luck, Sherry
its probably the push button that starts the machine or maybe the latch that keeps the door closed. Both easily fixed by yourself.
Or the switch attached to the door latch that tells the dryer when the door is open or closed. A woman at work had a problem with here dryer and due to the design it was going to be an expensives fix so she brought it in and we made a jumper to allow the dryer to work. She now has to make sure the door is closed and trun the dryer off manually before opening the door, but it does work for her.
yeah, thats what I meant, lacking terminology this morning, if the dryer does nothing, no power surge, then its probably the activation switch on the inside door. if you hear a surge like it wants to start then it may have something to do with the start button wiring.
I talked to Mary today and I will be going over there to look at her dryer. It sounds as though it may be the door switch as the light doesn't even turn on when you open the door. Hope it is just a bad door switch, not control panel. Her Dryer is 1 1/2 yrs old and GE will probably tell her too bad, so sad regarding getting them to fix it out of warranty, that's just how they are.
Went to Mary's Home Today, got to meet a really nice woman and found her problem..... Bad Power Cord on Dryer. She went and got a new cord and all is well!!!!!
Thank you so much monaco!!!! I purchased the new cord yesterday and had it fixed in no time. And yes I did it myself! I'm MRS. fix it around hera! thank you again for helping me out and saving me some mula!
