She wants to move back to North Carolina. I support my daughter in her decisions but I worry about her being able to get around, and worry like any of us Mom's do.

She needs a good neurologist to visit for her epilepsy. She at this time is not able to drive. I know when I left Johnston County didn't have a bus system. Is there one now? She works in a high end retail store and is a supervisor/assist manager type position. She makes very good money because it is a high end retail store. I know to make the same amount she probably won't be able to do because Vail is a resort. What is the job market like?

She has already found a place she is going to look into for school.

Her Dad will help her on most things. However I have my own concerns.

If she didn't have the epilepsy I would be so much more at ease letting her go.

    Thanks for any help.

As hard as it will be not having her near me I can let her go so that she is happy.

    thanks for any answers...

I have been seeing a neurologist (Dr. Gabr) for a few years now at Raleigh Neurology and have never had a bad experience. I have never been to another Dr.'s office where if you have a 10:15 appointment you can be seen at 10:13 if you get there a few minutes early. I have literally never had to wait more than five minutes for an appointment. She would need to get a ride to Raleigh for her appointments but if she can swing that I recommend them. They have a website if you google them.

Thank you I will let her father know. I am sure between her friends, him and her brother she can get there.

Also if you can help, what are the driving laws there with epilepsy. Here it is between doctor and patient. I believe in North Carolina she couldn't get a license without a doctors approval first, am I correct?

My husband also goes to Raleigh Neurology - they are wonderful! I highly recommend them. We've also had a lot of interaction with neurologists at Duke & Wake Forest - but we came back to Raleigh Neuro.

He wasn't able to drive for 4 months due to seizures - and when we had his license renewed last month, there wasn't a problem. Granted, he was on probationary driving privleges from his doctor (Dr. Glenn) a month or so before he told the DMV that he had a medical condition.
From what we understand, there is no LAW about driving in NC with a history of seizures. If your doctor feels comfortable and you have been taking meds as noted, it's totally up to you & doctor.

When my husband couldn't drive, we looked into different options for him to get to work & doctor's appointments. There are options, but once you cross the line between Wake & Johnston, the cost goes up. Not a huge deal if the trips are infrequent, but it would add up quickly if your daughter needed to go to Wake County often.
