LOVIN' this cooler weather! I'm going to bake our dinner tonight, here's what we're having: (I'll have to double the recipe ^.) and green bean casserole. What are you having?
I am going to Ready's house for dinner...that sounds really good!!! Actually I think we are having spaghetti tonight.
1. defrost chicken (I didn't have fresh chicken) 2. boil water and throw in the chicken until almost done 3. strain chicken water (KEEP the broth) 4. clean the pot (I have issues) 5. pick the chicken or cut it into the sizes you want (I like little chicken pieces) 6. pour back in the broth and more water (depending on how much you want 7. add some salt (actually NOSALT brand) and some pepper 8. when the water comes to a boil throw in a package of Annie's (brand) frozen noodles 9. Wait a little bit and dinner is done! See? That was easy.
Oh, i thought it was similar to what we call in VA, chicken & dumplins, made with bread in it, didn't know it was noodles.
You can put dumpins in it, but I can't even stomach them! I know I know, how can I be from the country with all the foods I don't like?
Here is what HG's talking about. http://www.annesdumplings.com/ They're called flat dumplings, but they aren't the puffed up dumplings. Down here we call refer to Annie's flat dumplings as pastry. I like both pastry and dumplings but I prefer pastry.
i think, not sure cause i am not a big fan of bread, but i think my Mom would put drop biscuits in it. Any the pastry thing just throws me off, pastries are sweet ya know with icing on them:lol:
Too funny, we are having chicken and dumplings tonight as well. My "dumplings" are homemade biscuit dough that you cook in the broth. Yum! You can do it with canned biscuits, but I'm not crazy about those.
I've made that before - yum! Easy to make, kids aren't crazy about it, but pick out what they don't like and eat what they do like. Can't make everyone happy!
Kaci................great minds, LOL. We are both from VA, so that explains it. I didn't know what chicken "pastry" was when we got here. :jester:
Yeah, that's what i was talking about, she made biscuit dough but would just drop it in, drop biscuits.
