OMG! This place is becoming a dangerous place to live. http://smithfieldherald.com/front/story/5246.html The manager of a Cleveland restaurant and two of her employees were held at gunpoint Saturday while their assailant robbed them and stole money from the store, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reported. One of the victims told officers he and his colleagues had just finished closing Smithfield’s Chicken ‘n Bar-B-Q on N.C. 42 when the incident occurred. He opened a rear door to exit the restaurant about 11 p.m. when a man put a gun to his head and ordered him back inside. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tammy Amaon said the man reportedly forced the three employees into a freezer and took their cell phones. “He told them that if they came out, they would die,” she said. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the employees came out and called 9-1-1. The manager later told police the robber took an undisclosed amount of money she had left on her desk. Amaon said none of the employees were hurt during the robbery. Officers are still searching for the suspect, she added. All rights reserved. Dang, I actually went there Saturday too, for some tailgate chicken....WOW. Wonder if it's the same perps that robbed SECU at 319...
Dang, I'd of been like...give me a party pack w/bbq chicken, fried chicken, BBQ, hush puppies, 10 gallons of sweet tea, more hush puppies, baked beans, slaw and all the money in your register. Seriously, it's not funny, I hate a damn thief!
vinegar-soaked barbecue? you do know where you are, don't you? vinegar is the #1 ingredient in nc bbq sauce
Sure...but their barbecue has hardly no flavor EXCEPT for vinegar. The vinegar-flavor should compliment a good hearty seasoned pork flavor. Vinegar should never be a mask for blandness. I will give them credit on their chicken, though. Its pretty good as are their french fries and hushpuppies. Sometimes, however, their sweet tea could induce a seizure its so dern sweet...and I'm a native eastern NC'er. I know sweet tea.
http://wral.com/news/local/story/1836733/ The founder of one of the state's largest barbecue and fried chicken restaurant chains tried to coerce a former male employee into a homosexual relationship, the former employee testified Wednesday in a civil trial.Jason Hallaman sued Gregory Moore, the founder of Smithfield's Chicken 'n Bar-B-Q,
I remember reading this when the allegations were first made. Apparently, its a repetitive thing with some employees. The only thing I've had to say and question is why this former employee made NUMEROUS trips with him to his oceanfront or lakeshore residence knowing that he was this particular way. First, I'd question why an employer wanted me to go to his or her home like that anyway, but if a pass is made the first time or you suspect that they are a certain way, you're only asking for further harassment.
Wasn't this guy his personal assistant? The owner, have you ever seen his mansion behind those gates? He's got tons of mula, so he asst. probably traveled with him to work, like most rich folks asst. do.
