Since I'm going to be homeschooling at least one of my kids next year, does anyone know of any homeschool co-ops or other homeschool groups I can contact? I know about Johnston County Home Educators (JCHE) but didn't know if there were any other groups out there. Thanks.
Not sure. I'm researching too as we'll be homeschooling 7 out of our 10 this year. Whatever you find, can you let me know as well? Good luck to you. I know there are TONS of classes and such locally. Many, many opportunities. Stephanie-- mom to 7 (soon to be 10!)
Here are some local homeschool resources you can explore. The list is not exhaustive but will give you a start. Home Scholars http://www.homescholarsacademy.com/ Psalm127 http://psalm127homeschoolcoop.com/ Hearts and Hands Co-Op - meets at Highlands Baptist Church in Garner SMILE co-op http://www.lifespringacademy.com/#!solutions Classical Conversations - http://www.classicalconversations.com/ Colonial Baptist Church in Cary has several co-ops that meet there Legacy Co-op http://generationshomeschool.webs.com/legacycoop.htm new - God's Kids Homeschool Co-op www.godskidshomeschoolcoop.com Great area support group - JCHE http://www.jchenc.org/ Check out their web page for the upcoming bookfair and conference - July 9th
I've been a member of Psalm 127 for 6 years. Most co-ops are already registering or finishing up registration for the fall. Let me know if you want to email the director for a quick response since we've just had a close of registration. You never know. 8)
Thanks for your help. I think I'll go to the JCHE bookfair coming up and talk to some people there and just go it on my own. I only, unless something major happens, will be homeschooling for this upcoming year so I think I can do it as long as I have resources to rely on.
