Hi guys! ***School advertisement here ***:mrgreen:

West View Elementary is having their annual Hoot N Holler Live Auction this Tuesday, April 15th, which starts at 7:00 pm. They will also have a silent auction with smaller size baskets that starts at 5:00 pm.

Dinner is being served at 6:00, which is sponsored by Outback Steakhouse who donates their time and food to the school. For $10.00 you get steak AND chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, bread, drink and dessert.

Thank you Clive for posting this on your scrolling banner out front!!!!!:hurray::hurray::hurray:

This is so much fun! I went last year and it was a great turnout! The baskets go for a lot of money, but they are definitely worth it, with trips and gift certificates to all kinds of cool places, themed nights out and lots more! And I guess this year they're doing the silent auction beforhand with cheaper things for those of us who can't afford the big stuff. And the dinner is great, and MNRedsky didn't mention that kids meals are only $6, and the gym is having free childcare for kids 4-11. My kids loved that last year, they played games and watched movies, they had a blast!

So do you win a prize if you are the loudest/longest hollerer?

I was impressed with the baskets at the Auction Last year ... but I just took a peak through the Auction book for this year and it looks like I need to get more money out of my savings account. Some of the baskets are unbelievable!!! There are quite a few I plan to bid on.

The Auction book listing the contents of the baskets to be auctioned can be seen on the westviewpta.com site on the following link:

Wow!! We sure do have some generous parents & local businesses.

Which baskets are you planning to bid on?

Just thought I'd see how much competition I'm going to have out there. If you are going to the Auction, which baskets are you planning on bidding on?

I'll be working there this year intead of shopping, but last year I couldn't afford any of the baskets, and won't be able to this year either! But I do want to check out the silent auction stuff...I just went to the pta website last night and didn't see any info on the auction, so thanks for posting that link! I'm going to go check it out right now!

Yep! And from what my son's teacher told me, their dinner tickets are sold out! The auction items look pretty cool online, can't wait to see them in person...Redsky - what is proper form of payment so I can be prepared tomorrow night? (auction items)

Yes, the dinner tickets are sold out. They actually had to send letters home to a few saying no more were available....Outback did an awesome job, but it's understandable there has to be a limit to their charitable allowances 8)

Check (made out to WVES PTA) or cash. Unfortunately no credit cards.....

I'm heading out to make my bids on a couple of baskets ... I'm sure I should be hoping (for the school's sake) that the bids get run up pretty high. However, my boy brought home a good report card and he's looking to bring home some loot from the auction tonight ... so I hope that I can still afford at least one of these wonderful baskets :) Wish me Luck :)

It's unbelievable how generous some folks in our community are. I can't wait to see the totals for tonights auction. After hearing some of the bids ... I know it will be impressive.

I'm almost positive it was about $20.000 just for auction stuff, not sure about the dinner $

From initial things I've heard the total was around $23,000.00.

I am extremely proud of the ladies that handled this...they did an excellent job and the money will do wonders for the school.

    YEA WEST VIEW ELEMENTARY!!!!!!!
