Whats the average hourly rate people expect to pay to have their PC serviced? I am looking for a not to high or low rate to ask.

Raleigh rates are higher. Any computer guys out there working on the side?

    Thanks

Most shop rates are $60/hour or more. In home rates from moonlighters shouldn't exceed $45/hour. Ask for a reference and call it.

Standard clean-up, which is the problem for most, should run about $60 +/-. It will look like they are doing nothing, but they are actually waiting for the software to run it's course. Really bad cleanups take longer to run.

Most tech's will leave the software and instruct you on "DIY" for the next time. Be prepared to take notes and have any questions written down prior to their getting there. Time is cost to you.

If you have hardware problems it's real hard to say what the cost should be without a diagnostic.

I don't charge anything hourly. Of course, I only work for friends and family. :banghead:
