As a virgin EOG mom (heh heh) I don't know how we are notified about scores: Is it no news is good news? Call, letter etc.? How long does it take to receive the scores? And will they review them and say: "Johnny's overall math score was good but he had some difficulty with measurement, etc. so review in that area would help."? Thanks! I am at River Dell if that makes any difference.
My son came home with a letter from the school saying he made a 4 on the Math and the other test won't be back until the fall. He took his math test 5/13 and had the results 5/19
I know someone who got a phone call yesterday. My kid isn't old enough to take the EOG's yet. But this isn't from a school anywhere near 4042 so...could be different.
they were suppose to call you last night ( I got my calls).....but I imagine no news is good news. They only had the Math 'news' last night, with the phone call..... you'll get a sheet with all the scores next week.
i was a virgin mom too. but i just got a call from my sons teacher. HE PASSED Thank God! But he is in resource classes so that may be why.? and she just told me about his math.
Why the fall? They usually come back the same week. Which test is coming back in the fall? I didn't get a call so, so far so good! Thank God!
My son goes to a Wake County school that goes off of a modified calander, so that may be just how they do it. I never got a call either, just a letter from the school.
You'll get a call from the teacher. I got mine last night. One of mine did not pass the math EOG. They then go into remediation and then retake it next week. After that, if still not passed, they will discuss a waiver based on grades/ class performance. What gets me is that the reading is not even in until the fall. What's the point of that?! Good luck. Don't stress it. If they'd stop "teaching" the test, I honestly think scores would go up. Teach the concept. That's what we used to do when we were going to school. Teachers would teach, there would be no test prep, you'd take it and move on. You did not hear of that many not passing back when I went to school. I hate that the last two weeks have been what I feel is wasted on prepping for the test. If they know the material, you shouldn't have to prep. My daughter's been working on prep work for the test for a minimum of two weeks that I know of, probably more. Sorry for the vent. stephanie--mom to 7
Last year I didn't get a call either just her test scores a week later saying she passed. I guess some teachers call and some don't? I dunno. I gotta go get her in a wee bit so I will find out when I go.
We were told we would get a call if there was a problem. I'm going with no news is good news. DS said he would get the results from one of them in writing today. We will see! Dontcha just love the communication! I went back and re-read my letter from the school regarding the EOG's, no mention of the actual results.
What was the name of the test we use to take? Wasn't it CAT test? Does anybody remember those? I think I remember taking them sometime in March, maybe...and it took just about until the end of the year to get the results.
why the fall for reading-I know that one Reading scores will not be known until the fall because they have revamped (made harder)the reading portion of the test (will serve as baseline for future years I think) and those scores don't count this year. Saw it in the N&O. Remember a few years ago it was the math portion and scores were BBBAAAADDDD? Thanks guys-I guess in my case no news is good news.
My daughter goes to W. Clayton and her teacher called last night to let me know she passed the math part of the EOGs. *Mom brag moment*: she got the highest score in her class! *Mom brag moment over*
I just got a call saying mine failed the Math.....not by a lot but failed regardless of how much. He has been retained in a lower grade therefore cannot take a retest. What kind of sense does that make?? Anyone else ran across this problem?
