With the primary comming up I am trying to plan for my vote. The big ones are easy to find info about them, but how do the rest of you research offices like auditor or commissioner of insurance. I have found a little but I am curious about how the rest of you do it. I am a firm beleiver that you don't just show up at the poles and pick a name--just don't vote if you don't know who you are voting for!

Here is a good voter guide: http://ncvoterguide.org/

I think WRAL has their own, you could look for it on their site, and many interest organizations are happy to give their take on candidates and issues - conservation, firearm rights, whatever issue moves you - you could probably turn up a good deal of info searching those organizations' sites.

It depends on what you are wanting to research.

Several of the candidates have their own website, FB profile or tweet.

There are a few organizations out there which have tried to put together some information about candidates.

Many of the candidates have never held an elected office so there is no voting record to see if they have voted as they promised their voters while running for office.

Here's a site with all candidates of all parties with a little bit of info -
