how much space do I need...

    how much space does winxp pro take up? I'm having trouble with my current hard drive(40gig) and installation of xp pro. I have a 10 gig drive laying around so I figured I could install xp pro on the 10 gig so I could troubleshoot the 40gig drive. Is 10 gig enough?

    10 GB is more than enough. A windows install should be about 1 GB or less + the other applications that you use.

    Did you format the 40 GB and it still doesn't work?

    Really don't want to re-format until I've had a chance to recover some files from it.

    Excellent plan to add another drive and transfer all your files.
