    Ok guys,
    Spill it.

    How was your Fair trip?

    Ours was great!
It went so much better than we thought it was going to go, but the crowds were intense!
The food was incredible, of course, the fried twinkie was awesome, my kids had the deep fried Coke. Don't bother. He said you couldnt really taste the Coke, it just got sweeter.
My feet are killing me, but I think Corky Powers did a good job with the Midway.
Everything was nice and neat, the attendants were nice, but the rides were too short.
    Fun rides though.
My 8 year old did great!
Stayed with us the whole time, did not wander, no whining, (which is VERY unusual for my son), and had a blast!
I was expecting the worst, but got a lot of great memories that will last me forever.
Can't wait to do it again next year!

So what di you like about your trip?
    And what did you hate?

I'm with you on the fried coke. It tasted just like a funnel cake!! We went yesterday around 2 and it was nice. No long lines for any rides. But by the time we left at 7 the people were rolling in. I only eat Hotdogs at my Daddy's stand. So as for hotdogs, fries, and stuff like that you know I'm going to say my Dad's is the best!!! But I also ate the fried twinkie, which I have already had before and it was good. As for the candy bars fried, well lets just say I want break my neck for another one. We are going again tomorrow to take my little girl and let her ride some. Yesterday was Mommy's day at the fair.

Not going to make it to the fair this year. We have had a choice of going to the fair or putting the money that we probably would have spent aside for our trip to Indiana next month for a band competition and to see my grandmother and parents and other relatives, so we chose the latter. Kids are a little disappointed, but with us been playing catch up from where I was out for surgery and stuff, well, sacrifces have to be made, so....

Maybe next year, we will see. Those that go, hope you have fun!!!!

We enjoyed the live entertainment at the waterfall stage. We even had one of the attends come up behind us at our seats and thank us for coming out. How cool! The gyros were awesome~

I am defintley going to play the "Guess my weight game this year".

With me being pregnant, it will throw them off even more, plus most of them are scared to guess too high on the ladies, lol...

I was wondering how was parking at the fair? Did you try and take the bus or did you get a close park near the entrance?

We arrived at 8:45 yesterday and got front row parking across the street in the stadium parking lot. When we left around 2:30, the entrances to the stadium lots were closed ... the lot was full.

I always take the bus from Wake Forest Rd...I think its $4 RT and it drop you off right at the gate. I am going to the fair on Friday so I can't speak of this years experience but.....its the way to go!

I've never had a problem parking.

Then again, I get to park in Press Parking and it's right across the street from the gate and free....

Road the bus for the 1st time this year on Sat. We got there just before 10, road the kiddie rides, went to the exhibit halls, road the ferris wheel looked at the grist mill etc. Had a great time. It didn't get real crowded until about 4 when the NCSU game let out. Left at 7 . Will ride the bus from now on, no hassle.

Are any of you going to the fair tomorrow (Sunday)? I have 5 extra entrance passes and I think 2 sheets of ride tickets we didn't use while we were there today. Please pm me if you'd like to have these. I'd hate to see them go to waste and I believe tomorrow is the last day of the fair.

    How was my fair trip

Well it was great!!! But I gotta tell you I am very disappointed in the State for thier little scam on consumers. When I was a kid and went to the fair I parked right in the dirt (mud) lot across the street on Hillsborough Street. As the fair has gotten more crowded they have started the park and ride system. What is disgusting is that this is obviously a ploy because it is not free regardless of how it is billed. Sure you can park for free but it costs $$ to ride the bus from the lot to the fair. And to top it all of they have made ALL the parking around the immediate fair grounds Permit parking only. It is a shame they are trying to extort money from the fairgoer before they even get in the fair

You're very welcome. I was glad I didn't have to throw the tickets out. I hope you & the kids have a great time - and manage to stay warm & dry. Maybe the lines won't be too long. It's always fun when I get to put a face with one of the 4042ers :) It was great meeting you :) Have a great time :!: :!: Hopefully the sun will come out soon.

We made it out to the fair on Sunday. Of course we waited until the last day to go, and of course it rained, that's just how my luck goes, lol.

Other than the fact that DH and I both have a cold from walking around in the rain (somehow MM got out without getting sick) the fair was okay.

I had my fried cheddar bites, and fried snickers bar. DH & MM tried the fried oreos and we weren't that impressed. There were a lot of rides that she couldn't go on because they shut them down due to the weather.

Spent my budgeted amount of money, which was still too much, lol....

I never made it this year, lots of parental guilt now, as my seven year old KNOWS the fair was in town and we didn't get to go............ Too much to do and not enough time as ususal, luckily I learned long ago not to promise such things! (He did get to go to Hershey Park this year, so he is hardly deprived, LOL!)

We took the kids out of school and went last Friday. Got there around 9:15 and were ready to hit the rides as soon as they opened them up, at 10:00. Of course, the majority of the fair workers still looked hung-over/strung-out and weren't able to get the rides going until 20-30 minutes after 10:00  but other than that, we had a great day. The weather was fabulous, and I actually brought money home for a change. :D
