I have been meaning for months to try a resturant on 70 across from the old Sonic "Hungry's" but it was always closed. Well we were out Xmas shopping last week and had already had dinner but stopped when we saw that they had Chicago italian beef. DH and I split a sandwich and have returned for a couple of days now to try other things; polish, gyro, deli sandwiches. The food is awesome, generous portions and a great value. Can't wait to go back for lunch this week. And the best is that they are open 7 days a week.
great place!!! i know the owners personally, when jon and randy bought the place it use to be a biker clothing store i worked for the electrical contractor (now im a paid firefighter in wake co) and i wired the new remodel for them and the whole family are super nice people theyve owned restaurants in chicago for years, i must say the gyros are the best ive ever had ! i go there quit a bit and they even deliver!!!
I had it once, but it wasn't for me. I thought the sauce they put on the subs tasted funny. Of course, it's all about personal preference and what you're used to. I love American Hero and think their subs are the bomb!
Everytime I drive by, they are closed!!! I will make an extra effort to stop by now knowing someone else has recommended it. Thanks! PS- I miss Sonic.
Does anyone know why they got rid of Sonic in both Smithfield and Clayton. I always get Sonic when I am visiting my parents in Greenville. The food is great and inexpensive
I believe it was for health reasons in Clayton, I still see them all over the country so as a company I think they are still in pretty good shape.
I was at Atlantic Orchid on Friday and noticed there is a Sonic on Atlantic Ave. just past Millbrook near the Mecixan resturant Toreros
