Can anyone tell me what the drive is like on Hwy 301 from Kenly to Hwy 264 in/near Wilson? Is it stop and go with lots of lights? What is the posted speed? How long does that stretch of road generally take to travel? Thanks in advance.

The speed limit from Kenly to Wilson is 55 mph except through Kenly and Lucama which is 45 mph. There are 2 stoplights in Kenly to contend with and 2 in Lucama. None of those are long if you have to stop. Once you approach Wilson, you encounter a couple of lights near the 264 and I-795 bypasses, although the length of the lights aren't that bad. There's probably a dozen more lights to contend with before reaching the northern limits of Wilson on 301. The speed limit will remain 45 mph through the city limits of Wilson on 301. None of the lights are particularly long...maybe no longer than a minute.

CAUTION! Kenly is 35 MPH, not 45!!!! and the cops do like to patrol to get the people coming off 95 going to fast.

Kenly has had a very bad reputation of slamming drivers traveling north and south on 301 and the I-95 exits for a number of years.
