I am absolutley done using premeire video at 210. I am so tired of the attitude I get from the employees EVERY time I go there. They are always out of the movie I want to rent, and their late fees are RIDICULOUS!! Tonight was the last straw! I rented a 3 movies a few weeks ago and the guy told me they were due back in 5 days..ok fine, so I was a day late. I went to rent movies tonight and there was a $15 late fee!!!! The VERY unpleasant employee informed me that one of the movies was due back in 24 hours...well that was news to me. I tried to argue with her on it, because of what I was told, but I just wasted my breath b/c she obviously could have cared less. So of course I had my BOGO coupon, which she rang up, and I gave her my frequent punchcard and she only punched it once. I asked her why she didnt punch it twice when I had rented 2 movies and she said it was because I used a coupon. GEEZ, I still rented 2 movies like the card says. Bottom line, I am tired of being treated like and inconvenience every time I walk in there!!! I guess I need to sign up for netflix or something like that. Sorry for the rant but I am PO'd!!
I can certainly relate to your ranting. Stop going there! I am sick and tired of crappy service and lazy butt employees too. I used to give these slack businesses a second chance...but not any more. We have so many more choices in this area now, so there is no reason not to take your business elsewhere.
have you considered netflix?? no late fees--- mailed directly to you usually w/in a day or two of your request--- hundreds and hundreds of choices --- plus once you have started a list they start making recommendations for movies you may like but haven't considered or heard of ----
I stopped going there too. I had rented a movie with an extra dvd, watched it, then took it back. A couple days later I got a call from the manager saying that I didn't bring the extra dvd back. Then a letter saying the same thing. So I started looking all over my house, not finding it anywhere. Kept looking, then tore my car apart thinking that perhaps it fell out somehow in my car??? Looked for a couple of days. Then got another call from the manager, this one a little nastier about the extra dvd and that I am responsible for losing it and I had better respond to her. I call them and tell them I will look some more and that if I can't find it will pay for it. So, I keep looking!! Finally, a few days goes by I say oh well, I ain't going to find it so I go up to Priemer to tell them sorry and can I please just settle up with them for the lose. The manager tells me "oh, we found it just after you called the other day, it had gotten put into another case" No Apology, No Nothing!! So, I say, "and you couldn't call me back to tell me that you found it"???? And she just stands there like a big ol ugly lump on a log!! Haven't been back since.
Sorry to hear of everyone's bad experiences there. I have nothing bad to say about the place. We are always acknowledged and greeted when we walk in, and are treated well when checking out. I was there just before Christmas and the young man working was very friendly and nice. I would feel the same way as you Mama and Tamo if those things had happened to me. I can't stand bad customer service.
Well I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I am definitely not going back after I return my movies today. Maybe if enough people quit going b/c of their RUDE customer service they will change..but I am not holding my breath for that.
Have you considered letting them know that you are not happy with their attitude when you drop off the dvd? It does no good to just stop going if they don't know why people are unhappy.
We use the one on Hwy 70 at Food Lion. Never had problems with them. Used to go to the one at Lowe's Foods until they closed (their rent went up). We rented a movie once and broke it. Instead of making us pay the $40 or $50 fee they let us buy one to replace it. Walmart - $10 - and no late charge. Lowe's Foods rents movies....
Love Netflix! I signed up with them about 6 weeks ago.. love it, love it, love it! I got 2 movies over a week ago, and because of the holidays just haven't had a chance to watch them yet. You know.. at the video store I'd be charged in late fees for those 2 movies what my monthly fee from NetFlix is! I have the "Unlimited 2 @ a Time" plan and pay $16/mo. I can't tell you how many times I've walked into Blockbuster or Premiere and had to pay that in overdue or late fees!
This same kind of thing happened to me once. Kept getting calls and notices for an overdue movie that my son had returned. He swore that he had taken it back, I was afraid he had lost it; so after searching his room and car for it myself I went in to settle up with them. When I walked in, an idea hit me. I went to where that movie was shelved and, what do you know, there it was, on the shelf. Big WHOOPS on their part! The girl was very apologetic about the whole thing so I didn't hold it against them, anyone can make a mistake. But if it ever happens again, I will check the shelf first!
The owner of Premier's Video is David Batten. He can be reached (usually) at their Wake Forest location. I met him several years ago and he would definitely want to know how you guys are being treated. I'm sure he would "correct" the situation if he knew what was going on.
Me again . . . I emailed the owner of Premiere's a link to this discussion and he quickly emailed me back and assured me that he would look into the problems. You can email him at info@premieresvideo.com if you would like to speak with him. I feel sure that he will handle the situation quickly.
You'll love Netflix, like everyone else said here. Save your trip and time. Been a Netflix member for 2 years and never once had any problem. Happy New Year!
netflix rules I agree-been a member of netflix 2+ years.Once about 18 months ago-they had me listed as having gotten a movie.I emailed them and said it had never arrived-they profusely apologized and sent me another copy!2 days later the original made it in-I just sent them both back.Never had a problem with them-and they always have the newest releases!
Blockbuster now lets you rent by mail and return them to the store if you want and get another movie at the store as well. Sounds like a good deal
From the owner at Premiere Video I responded to the post about the video store a few days ago. I am not sure if anyone else received this private message from David, the owner at Premiere Video, however, he PM'd me with this note. I think he may have thought I was the complaintant, which I wasn't. Anyway, I thought it was important for anyone interested, that he is aware of this situation, and you may want to contact him. See below...for transcript of message. Dear HidesinOBX: I was just made aware of this discussion board and wanted to reply to your post. I am sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction at our store located at McGee's. Customer service is a big part of our business and I want us to achieve that goal. Premieres Video is a small family owned business and we want to make a good impression within the local community. I realize our employees are human and make mistakes, but I like to know if a customer is not treated fairly. We do value our customers because they keep us in business. Please feel free to contact me directly at david@premieresvideo.com or my office (919) 556-8910. Thank you for your time and patronage. (David)
NETFLIX. We joined almost two years ago. I got fed up with renting a movie at A-1 for $3.00 and then paying $10.00 in late fees. Netflix works for my style. We have kept kid movies around for 4-5 weeks until they are bored with them (instead of paying $12.00 and its never watched again after a couple of times). Great selection and we usually see new releases within 1-2 days of the release. Plus they have TV shows, too. I tried them and Blockbuster's internet service head to head for about a month. Netflix beat them hands down. I hear that BB is better now.
I use Blockbusters Total Access which is alot like netflix and love it. Either is the way to go. Not to mention if you rent from blockbuster and take a movie back late it only costs you a buck and a quarter per movie late can't beat that as a late fee lol. and then its only if its over a week late i think. And trust me I am a very avid movie renter.
You don't know how long I've waited to say this same thing on here....well, I'll tell you, it's been since the first week of November. I had rented some movies, and when I returned them, I forgot one of the actual DVD's, I had the case but not the disc. I get a call from the manager about it, and all week, I forgot to take it there. I took it back on Friday, had to rent some more movies for dd's birthday slumber party. I knew it was then late, and didn't midn paying any fees that would be assessed. I turned it in when I walked in the door. Proceeded to find new movies to check out. As I was checking out, the teenager ringing me up said, did you return this movie. I explained that I did and he asked the manage what to do. She proceeded, with her back to me, to go off on the fact that I waited 4 days to return the DVD and now I expected this crap from her, and proceeded to rant for a minute without looking at me. Mind you this lady knows me from CHURCH preschool. She never apologized. The little teenager looked so scared to death, he didn't know what to do. I said, "If I didn't have to have these movies right now for this party, I would leave without them." We haven't rented from them again, and I am telling everyone I know, not to rent there either. Thanks for the owners name, I will be emailing him about this too. There is no reason for someone to be so rude to everyone. Okay, sorry, I just had to get that out!!!
We don't go there often. The few times we have I was not to crazy about the music the teens were playing in a "family" environment. My children were with me and the lyrics had some inappropriate language.
