SALEM, Ore. -- Detectives serving a search warrant involving a child pornography investigation found eight dead puppies in a freezer Thursday in Salem, according to Salem police. Police said they found 24 poodles running loose in a home on Vernon Loop on Thursday afternoon. Some of the dogs were near death, and there was no water or food available, officers said. Dog feces were found on floors, beds and clothing, and the odor was so strong that detectives needed to wear breathing respirators while inside the home, according to police. Eight dead poodles in plastic bags were found in a freezer among frozen food items, police said. Detectives said they were told the puppies were placed there until one of the children who lived at the home could bury them in the backyard. Kevin and Sarah Deal, both 30, were arrested on animal neglect and criminal mistreatment charges after police searched the home. Four children who lived at the home, ages 15, 16, 17, and 9, were taken into protective custody.
Whose kids were they? Did those people have children when they were 14??????? Ugh... (and why do the kids have to bury the dogs???) ugh..
