I'm sure I'm going to regret this...

Since I'm, er, between situations, I'm trying to come up with a great idea for a website. Actually I've been trying to come up with an idea for a few years now. I'm a nuts & bolts guy, not an idea man.

At any rate, what would y'all like to see in the whole wide world wide web? What do you think might be the next Craig's List, YouTube or MySpace?

I'll tell you what, come up with the next million dollar idea, and I'll cut you in on the profits.

 

Two ideas come to mind -

"petspace" (just like myspace, only for animals - maintained by their owners of course) and a christian search engine.

 

how bout a place where you can order stuff that you can not get locally. Example I love Seagrams Raspberry Ginger Ale. I use to be able to get it when I would go down to South Florida at a couple of the Publix stores. But it is no longer available down there. Also when I lived in De I use to love to get Herr's old bay seasoning potato chips. Again I can not get that there. Wish there was a central place to be able to get things like that.

I understand what you mean, but it would be overly complex to account for every possibility. For example, just last weekend my sister-in-law was wondering if they still made Turkish Taffy (apparently a candy from New York). I had a heck of a time trying to locate it, and could see where a website as you suggest would help. But you can't look for something unless you know in advance what that something is.

OK, looked at the link. That's not what I meant. I meant a search engine that returned only results that were deemed OK by christian standards, or merchants that were owned/operated by christians. Only christian approved material, porn inaccessible completely. Hmm, that would probably be more of a nonprofit than a money maker.

Here's my grand idea that I'll never follow through with, so have at it. I once owned parisandnicky.com. My intention was to turn it into a porn site dedicated to them, possibly encouraging them to buy it from me. When you're rich, call me.

True but maybe if the person who is looking for say a particular chip or turkish taffy they could tell you the Mfg's name. Like I knew it was Seagrams on the ginger ale and Herr's on the chips I would assume your SIL is looking for a particular brand of taffy. It would be harder to look up say salt water taffy if i said I use to get it at the store right next to the Asbury Park convention center right across from Madam Marie's fortune telling both.

I figure you would not have to carry the stock just be the middle man of placing the order.

What??? Porn can be accessible on the Bible Gateway.. Wouldn't it show info that is true relative to the version of Bible you are searching.

Oh, sort of a family friendly Google. Actually you can set up your Google page for "SafeSearch" in the preferences.

A good thought, but a little more involved than I was looking for. I would have to monitor communications and personally search for the requested stuff. I am looking to get back to work, so I was figuring on a more self supporting web site.

But it is, indeed, a good idea.
