Good article, I agree it is critical to make sure the individual is Safety Aware up front, there are to many stakeholders that can be damaged by a poor decision.
I enjoyed it, too. Having been raised by my dad who was OSHA minded (VP Engineering for department stores) and having been in the corporate world, I'm well aware of safety issues in the workplace. From walking around a department store and having empty 4 pronged clothing racks at eye level (cut eyes and face) to having co-workers sneak in space heaters to their cubicles, I get really leary on some things. Loved the article.
