    Donna Ingram Named November Employee of the Month

    Donna Ingram, District Auditor, has been named Johnston County Schools' Employee of the Month for November 2007. Ingram is truly a "team player", not only in doing her own job but frequently assisting in payroll and cash receipts during heavy workload times and filling in for school secretary/treasurers when absences occur, according to her nomination. She even takes school accounting calls while caring for her husband during chemo-therapy treatments or while caring for her aged mother who is home-bound.

    "She has always performed her job duties well. In her 29 years with Johnston County Schools she has progressed through many jobs including instructional secretary, a school secretary/treasurer, Administrative Assistant for Finance, and her current position. While in her Administrative Assistant position, she worked days and attended Johnston Community College at night to earn a two-year Accounting Degree," said Dan Jones, Associate Superintendent for Finance.

    Ingram attended Mount Olive College at night to obtain a B.S. Degree in Accounting. She won a scholarship from the State NCASBO organization to help with educational expenses. She has also been active in professional organizations, including JCAEOP, NCAEOP, and NCASBO. Ingram will retire on December 1, 2007.

    "The service and experience she provides to Johnston County Schools will be missed. I truly believe she is the ideal "Employee of the Month" candidate," said Jones.

    In partnership with Carolina Pottery, Johnston County Schools salutes Mrs. Ingram for:

    * Demonstrating excellence on the job
    * Exhibiting a "teamwork" attitude
    * Making a significant contribution to the school, school district, employees, students and/or the community
    * Enthusiastically supporting the mission of Johnston County Schools

    Ingram was recognized at the November Board of Education meeting. She received a balloon bouquet, a $50 gift certificate from Carolina Pottery, and an appreciation certificate from Johnston County Schools. Her photo will be displayed at Central Services.
