    OK, folks,
    was driving the RV from White lake back home today, and had a tire tread separate from the tire. Pulled off the interstate entirely. Turned on flashers, and did a quick walk around.

    What is it with the AH's in such a hurry. Since I was westbound, just west of MM 336, before Meadow, I figured it was everybody in a hurry to get to the NCSU-USC game.

    Even when there was no traffic in the left most lane, quite a few folks just had to maintain their travel at whirlwind speeds in the right lane...and couldn't allow me to examine the tire that had the problem.

    I hope those darned folks get to where they were heading to. I figure if you drive like....., you'll get there.

    Quick shout out to Chris P, from Magnum Tire service, who came all the way from Wilson, courtesy of AAA, to do the tire job. One wold think that AAA would have had someone a tad closer to me, either Clinton, even Spivey's Corner....

    I think there should be an allowance for the general public to use strobing warning lights (either in clear or yellow) when pulling alongside the roadway. I think it would help slow people down more and increase visibility for those who are periously close to traffic.

    In fact, I think vehicles should come standard with strobing clear or yellow hazard lights and all new vehicles should incorporate the blinking center, high-mount brake lights you see on some newer models.

    I noticed the same thing on two different occasions along I049. It just amazed me that people would not change lanes but at a minimum slow down a bit.

    Safety is out the window on the interstate I guess.

    If I can, I always move over, scares me to dealth seeing people/cars on the side of the road like that. I sure the heck wouldn't want to hit them.

    let me check....
    well I'm "good" at some things...

    I am a professional Transportation Corps Officer, but don't consider myself to be a professional trucker, as that title is earned, not awarded.

    I couldn't get the sunsaguns to let me put highway warning signals in the lanes.

    I'm guessing that the only warning device to which they would have paid attention would have been a Phalanx pointing at them...and even then their morbid curiosity and drive like the Hammers of ..well, you know..would have rendered the point moot, unless I had a free fire zone established.

    BTW, I don't follow the academy games. I'm sure you had enough to deal with with brand new nuggets in the fleet, just raring to show how they had the moxie to become the CNO in a year or two....Lord knows the ring knockers from West Point were mostly intolerable, until they had been mentored by a good NCO.

    So, your choice is Heels vs. Wolfpack..or Green Bay verus anyone in the NFL.

    Thanks for the thought. 8):lol::cheers:

    Somewhere I heard that deaths from people on the side of the road like your situation are one of the highest rates of accidental death.
    Glad everyone is OK
    I ALWAYS move over, slow down if I cant.
