Anyone have the website that shows who's planned to become part of the shopping area at 42/40 (behind the Golden Corral)? A year ago I heard WalMart and Target were coming. Then I heard WalMart decided to instead build in the Timber Road area.
the developer (Lauth properties) that was to develope the shopping center behind golden corral, has pulled that project from their website, and all projects for that shopping center have been listed as abondoned (not going to be built) on the construction web site I go to. The Johnston County plannnig website forums says that no plans have been submitted as of Feb 1 for a wal mart in the cleveland area.
I heard one time they were going to put some type of amusement park near here, other than the Dollywood near Roanoke Rapids.
Dollywood is going to be near Pilot Mountain now that the interstate is going through that area. They estimate they will save at least three million because they only have to build ONE in that location ....   Edited to point out where I was unclear ... Pilot Mountain will get a twin man-made mountain thus saving the cost of building two for Dollywood.
The Randy Parton theater / Carolina Crossroads is what is being built in Roanoke Rapids. They just completed the actual theater a couple of days ago. Its going to look good. Not sure about a Dollywood going anywhere.
I heard that the same developer that did north hills has the site under contract for a mixed use development
Did you know that A TGIFridays is coming to White Oak. Near the Wendys' / Target area. Site approval hapened last week.
I would figure that Kane would have all their money tied up in the new North Hills (East) project. http://www.northhillsraleigh.com/east/ http://www.kanerealtycorp.com/
it was kane. they have the entire site under contract and are doing a huge mixed use development with a huge portion dedicated to retial. i saw the flyer this week
Sounds like a bunch of RUMORS to me. As far as FACTS go, I did see that COOKOUT has bought (Not under contract, not optioned, actually CLOSED ON) the corner in front of Shooters. I hear(rumor) that they do a pre-fab, modular type building, so construction shouldn't take too long, for any Cook-out fans!!!
