IT work does not pay

    you can thank offshore support for alot of that. When I call HP, Dell, and IBM I always make them let me talk to someone in the United States. My first question always is "Are you located in the United States?":evil:

    Good luck with that option in the future, may not have anyone to talk too

    And you are probably still not talking to somebody in the US. A story in the N&O a while back (maybe a year or so) discussed call centers in India, how they used American accents, and used American names.

    Picture Apu with a generic American accent... "Thank you for contacting Dell Customer Support. This is Paul, how can I help you today?"

    Yeah, I'm a contractor out at IBM ... whee ....

    That is why after 25yrs in the IT field I am changing careers. Next week I graduate from nursing school. Make less money but I wouldn't go back for anything, nursing is much more fulfilling. And the best part......I don't have to worry about finding a job!!
