I need a list of suggestions for a summer camp. I need a full day one with an early drop off/late pick up. Any suggestions? I found the town of clayton website to be less than informative...:banghead:
Johnston County YMCA, Upward Bound....drop off at 7 pick up by 6. http://www.ymcatriangle.org/Johnston_County_YMCA/Programs/Youth/Summer_Day_Camp.aspx
It is run by Mark. My girls did a summer at Interskate when Mark was running it and he's great with the kiddo's as is Ms. Lisa (who moved with him). I think they are open 6:30-6:30. Here's their link http://kids-clubhouse.us/index.shtml
Camp Invention is wonderful. http://www.invent.org/camp/ I know they have that at East Clayton Elementary but not sure where else around here. They are sponsored by some large corporations and when my daughter was young the closest one was in Cary. Drove her and a friend back and forth every day. They just loved it. Horne Memorial Church usually has some wonderful camps during the summer for elementary all the way to college kids. The new pottery place near Lone Star might have some. Check with dangerboy because I think they home school or do something similar (magnet school) and will know of some. If you want week long camps for that age checkout Rockfish in Fayetteville and Camp Seafarer near New Bern. Wonderful, wonderful camps. Grace
I thought the folks at Kids Clubhouse were great. My son really enjoyed his visits there. I All of the staff at Kids Clubhouse have always been great.agree that Mr. Mark & Ms. Lisa are wonderful ... but I believe I've seen Ms. Lisa working in the office at Garner Pediatrics the last few times I've been through. We haven't been to Kids Clubhouse in a while ... but my son will probably spend at least a portion of his summer there this year. Going to the doctors office is never fun if the little ones aren't feeling well - but my son is always excited to get to say hi to Ms. Lisa.
