    Proctors Needed!
    Johnston County Schools principals are seeking persons interested in
    serving as test proctors during the administration of the annual
    End-Of-Grade and End-of-Course tests, Tuesday, May 10 through Thursday, May 12. Please call the school of your choice and inquire through the principal's or guidance counselor's office.

    School Bus Roadeo Winners Announced
    Winners of the annual Johnston County Schools School Bus Roadeo were
    announced on Wednesday: Robin Jernigan, South Johnston High School, 1st place; Sandra Moore, Polenta Elementary School, 2nd place; Tonya
    Sanderson, North Johnston Middle School, 3rd place; Susan Atkins, East
    Clayton, 4th place. There were 47 participants.

    Congratulations to Stephanie Rous, JCS Teacher of the Year!
    Stephanie Rous, a seventh grade teacher at Cleveland Middle School was
    named Johnston County Schools' Teacher of the Year at the annual Flame
    for Learning banquet on Tuesday, April 19. Rous is a National Board
    Certified Language Arts and Social Studies teacher.

    Princeton Students Recognized as Top Ten Team at Science Olympiad!
    Princeton's Science Olympiad Team competed in the North Carolina
    State Science Olympiad tournament on Saturday, April 16 at NCSU and was recognized as a TOP TEN State Science Olympiad team for 2005! Five
    students received medals for placing in their events. The team received

    Clayton Middle to Honor Academic Achievement at Annual Banquet
    The faculty and staff of Clayton Middle School will host the CMS
    Academic Banquet in honor of the academic scholars for the 2004-1005
    school year. The banquet will be held in the school cafeteria on
    Tuesday, April 26 at 6 p.m.

    South Smithfield to Host Technology, Math Night
    South Smithfield Elementary School is gearing up for a "Fun Night" on
    Tuesday, April 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Activities will be centered
    around technology and math in two sessions: Session 1- K-2 Sparkling
    with Technology, 3-5 Mapping Out A Solution; Session 2, 3-5 Sparkling
    with Technology, K-2 Mapping Out A Solution. This is the school's
    third year hosting Technology Night. Last year, more than 250 parents
    and students attended. Prizes will be awarded. The interactive
    activities enhance what has been taught throughout the year. One of the
    activities for technology is "Spin The Wheel." A student spins the
    wheel and the student will answer the technology question or perform the
    computer task noted. Other activities will include computer-designed
    t-shirts, a photo shoot, Slideshow, and math centers. A special thanks
    goes to BEST BUY in Garner, for the $2,500 "Teach Award," which was
    used to fund the fun night.
