The Expo features Employers, Resources, Workshops, Career Consultations
from HR Professionals, Resume Reviews by Employment Counselors and more!

Career Consultations - Seasoned HR Professionals will provide individual
consultations and answer questions ( room 5).

Resume Reviews - Employment Counselors will provide resume review
services
via the Mobile JobLink Career Center (front entrance).

Cyber Stations - Rooms will be available for completing online
applications
or emailing resumes during the Career Expo (room 5).

Two mini-workshops will be rotating every 30-minutes in the Resource
Area:

Career Coach, Kelly Welch, MA and GPHR
Her extensive HR background sets the stage for comprehensive expertise
in
the areas
of career positioning, networking plan and execution, job search
strategy,
resume
development, assessing cultural fit, interviewing for results, and
negotiating beyond
the original offer.

David Patterson, a NC State certified Business Coach, Career Coach and
Business
Advisor, is also the author of The Bridge.
In today's job market you need a strategy for building a foundation and
to
use in
approaching your job search. To learn where you can best apply your
talents
and
form success strategies than can be applied in transitioning to a new
career, please
join David in the Resource Area.

Tips to share with job seekers:

*
Allow time for parking.
*
Bring plenty of resumes.
*
Bring your resume on a flash drive.
*
Dress as if you going for an interview.
*
Don't carry several bags - just your portfolio or folder and handbag.
*
This is not an event to bring children.
*
Focus on the employers - NOT their giveaways.
*
Ask brief, targeted questions.
*
Collect business cards and make follow-up notes.
*
Expect to be told "must complete an online application" and many booths
won't even
take your resume - some wil,l so be prepared!
*
Wear comfortable shoes - but not sneakers!
*
Review the list of businesses and do some research. Arrive with a plan!
*
Don't forget to take advantage of the resource area and/or to attend a
workshop.
*
Bring a little bit of cash in case you need a drink or snack - the Cafe
in
the McKimmon
Center is open to the public.
