How does one get a work permit. That YMCA thing sounds good for my son but he won't be 14 til August. Something to think about for next year.
When you're done filling that out (you/your child/and the employer) you just take it to Social Services in Smithfield to the front desk clerk and they sign it and you are good to go. Very easy.
Started working for a living at age 13 as a paperboy, probably the best starter job ever. Unfortunately it wen the way of buggy whips and in a few years we might not even have papers. Got a work permit at 15 and went to work in a candy store. That was a rude awakening in that I needed to get a Social Security Number before I could get the work permit and that is when I found out my first name was "Hugh" and on the job I doubled in size in three years. (Minimum wage but all you could eat)
My first job was a waitress at A&W! mmmm Rootbeer floats. It's not like the A&W/KFC in Raleigh. It was set up like Sonic but also had indoor dining.
My first really job was at Mcdee's..I lasted 3 months lol. But, I got to work for my parents business when I was a young teen, around 13 or 14. Sheri
back in those days.... we didn't have to have one til we went to work, I remember getting mine about that age too!
