Many of you know my mom lost her 2.5 year battle with ovarian cancer 6 weeks ago. For the 3rd year we will be walking in the Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Walk to raise funds for OC research through Duke Cancer Center. Last year mom was the very last person to cross the finish line - but she made it! This year we are walking in her memory. You are ALL invited to join our team and walk with us this year. You are also welcome to make a donation to the cause. My thanks and hugs to all of you who already made a donation when she passed and to all of you who walked with us last year! frugalmomoftwo, My wife is a 2 time survivor of ovarian cancer. She will be very excited to hear about this walk and the fund raising. Thank you for posting this info. I'll let her know about your post tonight when we get home. And to all as it is stated in the first post "Early detection is absolutely vital with this disease" Thankfully with both occurrences my wife's cancer was detected very early and it has helped with her fight against this terrible disease.
