I searched all the community pool posts with no info on the new Cleveland Springs Village/neighborhood...anybody know if their pool will be accepting outside memberships and if so, any info or who to contact? I've seen the big banners on Cleveland Rd marketing "the coolest pool in town" but there is not a number listed to call, nor did I see anything posted at the gate when I drove in to check so maybe they are just advertising for ppl to buy houses still??? Also, anybody belong to Turner Farms and if so, how do you like it? We are close to this one too. Do they have lifeguards during pool hours? The reason I ask is that hubby and I used to live in a neighborhood with a pool that did not have lifeguards. And there were so many unruly/unsupervised children and teenagers there constantly that we never even used the pool. We do not have children and just want a place to go relax on the weekends/meet new people, etc when we are free. That being said, I understand that kids will be at a pool during the summer and I expect screaming and splashing and kids just being kids8) But I would expect them to be supervised and respectful. I'd like to find a pool where the kids have to get out every hour or so for the adults to enjoy the water and cool off for a few minutes. You could not have paid me to join our old neighborhood pool, much less ask me to pay and I am just trying to avoid wasting my money:lol: Thanks in advance!
You have to live in Cleveland Springs to attend their pool. They are not selling pool memberships it is part of the homeowners dues.
Turner Farms has lifeguards and they make the kids take a break every hour for adults only swim too. It is pretty crowded on weekends tho.
Thanks for the info everyone! I was wondering about Turner Farms being really crowded. It seems kind of small for the advertising they do. Momof3-I remember thinking girl lifeguards were mean when i was little too. Of course, I was always drooling over the boy lifeguards so maybe that had something to do with it:lol: How do you like Lionsgate? Is it hard to get a spot on the weekends? Bandmom-is it crowded to the point you can't find seats if you don't get there by a certain time? We would most likely be "after lunchers" on Saturdays or Sundays.
we are not members, but have been guests there. I would say yes - the times we went on Sat, we got there before noon so we could get a chair.
The Cleveland Springs pool looks pretty nice. Too bad the houses there are completely on top of one another. And the interiors of the townhouses are so much nicer than the regular houses, with nice trim work and attractive kitchens. What a shame. The HOA dues are $40 monthly, so it looks like everyone's automatically a member. Maybe next year they'll open it up to purchased memberships, assuming there's no $1200 registration fee like Broadmoor is charging.
I think Cleveland SPrings looks nice too, but I'm with you Crysta, couldn't stand being so close to my neighbors:lol: But I do understand those who don't care for yard work/upkeep and that it works for some. I would love it if they opened up a membership next year too. Broadmoor charges $1200 to register:shock: What exactly is that supposed to include?? And what kind of pool exactly is that...gold plated?!?! Yeah, a little out of my price range there. I think Lionsgate is definitely affordable for what you get. It's just that we don't necessarily need all of it considering we don't live over there. I would much rather have a summer membership vs. year round athletic club mbrship. But the alternative to the year round club route seems to be an over-populated, too small pool where you race for chairs/tables when they open on the weekends. I like my affordable Fit for Life gym and one reason I actually use it is becuase of how close it is to me. Lionsgate is only $35 more a month for the pool usage, I'm just worried I'd stop working out because it is way further than the mile I drive to Fit for Life:lol: Don't one of our 40/42 high rollers have the dough to open us up a pool here at 40/42:jester: Decisions, decisions....
Yes, Broadmoor is offering pool memberships this year to non-members. And they are calling the $1200 an initiation fee. Another option is the Smithfield Aquadic Center, which is pretty cheap, and has both daily and annual memberships. Pineville at Flowers is $75 a month, and they have both indoor and outdoor pools, a workroom, and free childcare for up to 2 hours. Tucker Farms membership is $425 for the season, but I've heard they get really crowded.
Yes, it is an indoor pool. There is also a spray park, arts & crafts room, basketball court, walking track, weight room, fitness center, raquetball courts, spinning bikes and treadmills, and a banquet room. They have a daycare facility The website is: http://www.smithfieldrecreationandaquaticscenter.blogspot.com/ There is a coupon on the website for $30 off enrollment until May 31. Daily passes are $8 for residents, $10 for nonresidents; $5 children residents, $7 for child nonresidents. They opened today, and are offering a free trial membership. Membership benefits include free fitness classes, access to all of the facilities, and discounts for swim lessons, parties, etc. Annual memberships are (residents/nonresidents): Individual - $378 / $507.60 Family (max 2) - $486 / $615.60 Family (max 4) - $594 / 723.60 Senior (individual) - $270 / 399.60 Senior (family) - $378 / 507.60 Family Add-on (per) - $120 / 120
Lionsgate is WAY overcrowded. Where is Cleveland Springs? Whatever happened to the Cleveland community pool plans? Did that go away because Sluggers is up for sale?
Clev Springs in on 1010, between 42 and 50, on the right. Community pool - yes, the same guy was trying to head that up but he's had family problems and it just didn't work out.
I have never seen them make the kids get out for adults to have time to swim. The lifeguards make everyone get out so they can take breaks though. Is that what you are referring to? I agree with you about it not being crowded. I think it depends on the time of day. So far we have been lucky and not been there when it's crowded. Memorial Day it got pretty packed, but I expected that.
Or....you could go to Rec Warehouse and buy an above ground pool and never have to worry about the crowds!
Since Riverwood (which we belong to) and Lionsgate are both operated by Fred Smith Co...........I'm going out on a limb here and state that they make the kids get out of the pool for their breaks once per hour, but adults are allowed in the pool at that time.
That could be. But we were in the pool once, and were told to get out because the lifeguards are on break, so I don't know. I'm lost. LOL Guess I should ask next time. That's awesome if they do let adults have some child free swim time. If you find out before me, please post.
