For everyone that has junk cars, here are a couple links for you. Both of these organizations will arrange free towing from your home. You will then get a receipt for a tax deduction, a voucher for two free nights hotel stay at a number of destinations throughout the country, and you will be helping children's charities. http://www.kars4kids.org/index.html http://www.childrenscars.org/
Interesting. Do you have any idea how much $$ actually goes to the charities with these organizations?? I've seen alot of cars that have been donated to charity sold at salvage auctions, many times they sell for very little- and the charity has to pay towing and storage, plus auction fees, etc- so they often end up with little or no money from these donations. Still, it can be a good way to get rid of an old car you have sitting around. Another alternative would be Wheels 4 Hope in Raleigh- they actually fix the cars up and DONATE or sell them at greatly reduced prices to needy families, plus you still get a tax deduction. http://www.wheels4hope.org/ Rig
I really didn't look that far into it, I was actually just happy to see that there were organizations that will remove junk cars for free. The tax deduction and vacation may offer just enough incentive to some folks to get these things out of their driveways.
