Okay, so SPCA is supposed to be calling me next week about the spay/neuter clinic, and setting up an appointment. Well, wouldn't you know it, this week my puppy went into heat. From what I understand, they can't be fixed until they are done?!?!?! I hope the appointment is after this....I was trying to avoid all of this, but you see how good the luck is for me.
Call them and ask. I know the vets doing the surgery and I know they can do it while they are in heat, but it is riskier, so they may not want to take the additional risk. Usually 'outside' vets charge more during this time.... Good luck and keep her under lock and key!!!
Thanks for all the help. I will definitely ask them. She should be close to finished at the end of next week, I think. We are definitely keeping her inside and on a leash. That is all I would need. My kids were asking me if she could have puppies and then we would have more dogs. aye aye aye!!! Not a chance. I was hoping to get her fixed quickly and then not worry. Oh well, wish me luck that they can do it next week.
