Is it something that a smaller independent hardware store might do... like Hudsons or Ace??

There is a small engine repair place over on 401 near the Super K-Mart in Garner. I forget the name of the place. Anyway, they have a sign out by the road. It says they repair them.

Hudson's will do it for you...either the Garner or Clayton location. However, I would imagine they might have a waiting list this time of year. Probably most service places will.

Look into getting a new one. They are dirt cheap and if your is more than a few years old, it'd probably be worth it.
