Had lunch there today and it was a big disappointment! Service was bad, food was bad,the seat we sat on was ripped...Husband ordered a Mexican style T Bone Steak and the waiter kept on asking "chicken or steak"??? I wanted to know if you could order the steak fajitas without rice and I still don't know what the answer was since none of us could understand him.The fajitas turned out to be bland, the steak thin and fatty...We went to Winston's Grill in Raleigh yesterday-what a huge difference!!!

To me, the LaCocina at White Oak was the best one they had left. We went last night and that was my last time. I was charged $3.50 for an item that was clearly marked on the menu for $2.25. I got the menu out and showed him where it was on the first page of the menu. He flipped to the last page (I didn't get that far so I hadn't seen that) and showed me where it was listed for $3.50. It's not the $1.25 for me, it's the absolute principle of the matter. BUT for $1.25, they lost the business of 6 people who frequented the restaurant at least 2-3 times a month. Whatever.

I'm really sorry to hear that, because we eat at the one in Clayton at least every other week and have yet to have bad food or bad service. I've only eaten at the one at White Oak a couple times. Clayton has always, always been very prompt with us, and we've been eating there for at least 8 years.

We used to go to La Cocina a few times a month, when Julio was working in the bar area. Always great service from him. Then when they opened the White Oak location they moved him over there, we went there a few times, but it is more out of the way. THEN.... we found Festejos.... I think maybe we've been back to LaCocina once or twice since. Festejos seems to have much fresher food in their dishes, they have great salsa and very fresh guac. and have more of the authentic dishes. The shrimp empenadas are great!

    Disturbing Object in Food

We used to love eating @ LaCocina in White Oak until recently(about a week ago now) when we discovered a USED, DIRTY, FOLDED BAND AID in our food! Needless to say we won't be going back EVER!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully the band-aid was reported to the health department or other government authority.

Lives could be at risk or someones business irreparably damaged.

I have never been to the one at White Oak because I don't like the one in Clayton. I saw them dump leftover pitchers of margaritas from the tables back into their vats behind the bar one night...never will go back.
