Is there a lake in the area that is good to take the kids to for the day? Looking for one that is family-friendly and clean. Thanks in advance.

    What kind of lake?
Tucker Lake is pretty good, but expensive.

Jordan Lake is pretty cool, but a little out of the way.

I haven't been to Lake Wheeler (yet), so I don't know what facilities there are.

Fantasy lake water park outside of Fayetteville. The have all kinds of water slides, drop lines, free swim, arcade and grill. Very nice for kids. I think it is $12.00 all day.

Wouldn't waste money here. The water is NASTY!!! The kids came out of the water with brown fungus looking stuff on their bodies. Was slimmey and nasty. Too far to go to swim in swamp water.

Falls Lake in Raleigh....beaver dam or sandling beach are great places to spend the day. No motorboats allowed and the water is clear. I kayak there alot.

I just know that kids love Fantasy Lake. Was there just a couple of weeks ago and it was not that bad compared to other lakes I have been to. At least they have the white sand bottom. Most lakes and public swim places are nasty, not to mention things that are in the water that you can't see. Most people don't go swimming in a dirt hole and expect to come out clean.

RC was it really better than most places? I don't remember the white sand bottom I just remember how nasty brown the water was. And it was packed packed packed when we were there about 3 years ago.
