The influence these groups had on Rock and Rap is phenomenal but like you said, hardly anyone knows of their influence. Although most know of Frank, they know him from a novelty perspective only (classically trained). Being a Wisconsin boy, VU's "The Gift" still holds a special place for me. Strange these two groups really couldn’t stand each other.
