WEST JOHNSTON HIGH SCHOOL BAND PROGRAM HOSTS THE LEADERSHIP SUCCESS LIVE TOUR WITH SCOTT LANG AND PATRICK SHERIDAN ON OCTOBER 5, 2005 - October 3, 2005 The staff and students of the West Johnston High School Band Program invites all band students in the area to attend the Leadership Success Live Tour on October 5, 2005 in the auditorium at West Johnston High School from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Nationally renowned speakers, Scott Lang and Patrick Sheridan will be taking music students on a two and a half hour journey of leadership through laughter and learning in this special event workshop. Mr. Lang has been successfully directing music student in performances and leadership since 1988. His bands have performed at events such as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship. Mr. Lang is also the co-founder of the Southwest Leadership Summit, which deals with the development of student leadership in high school. He challenges band students to reach beyond normal expectations of the public school system to excel in leadership, academic and performance skills. Mr. Patrick Sheridan has been enthusiastically received as a solo artist around the world performing in venues ranging from the White House to an NBA half-time show to NBC's Today Show. Mr. Sheridan is regularly featured on BBC Radio and PBS and NPR broadcasts. Mr. Sheridan's touring schedule will take him to 20 countries around the world and 35 states across America. During Mr. Lang's first visit to West Johnston High School this month the students were encouraged and challenged to become leaders. During his presentation, Mr. Lang illustrated the differences in expectations of participating in a band program that contribute to historically higher success rates "Without question Mr. Lang has made a huge impact on our band program" stated Director of Bands M.
