In light of recent events involving a fellow law enforcement officer's decision to charge a supposedly well-known professor for disorderly conduct and subsequent comments by POTUS that the LEO "acted stupidly", I'd like to share this commentary by the late Paul Harvey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB9-NcunsKc
Wonder what good old Paul would have thought if he had been arrested on his own front porch for talking smack to a badge happy cop.....or would he have changed his mind like he did on the Vietnam War....for it, until his son was eligible for the draft.
Paul Harvey didn't have to worry about being arrested on his porch because he probably would never act like Gates did... Badge happy cop???? Ignorance is bliss you dumb A.
Think the point is that Gates wasn't arrested for B&E. He was arrested for exercising his right to free speech since he wasn't threatening any physical violence. That should concern anyone who believes in the Bill of Rights and the principle of a man's home being his castle. It would be nice if discussion could be held on here without names being called. As I posted on another thread, "Once you call names, you've lost the argument, thanks for playing"
 Take the BS to another thread and don't ruin the intention of this one. There are enough Gates threads floating around. Move on.
And for the most part, if he is at home, not threatening violence, he has the right to act like an idiot and not cooperate. Was he a grumpy old man with an ego, yep. Was the cop letting his ego show off his authority, yep. Did the POTUS speak out on something he didn't have enough information about, yep. Basically the only one acting like a mature adult was the Police Commissioner or DA or whoever it was that dropped the charges.
